Welcome

Keep scrolling past the pictures, there is more info. Im just into Aesthetics :)

Welcome to my blog, I’ve been really wanting to find a way to share more information and science behind my favorite modalities that I like to use in my services but haven’t quite figured out which way I should do it.

There are always so many great topics and tips on my mind and I have always found newsletter blasting to be quite annoying.

Although I have signed up for some amazing companies newsletters I have almost immediately regretted doing so and it would really turn me off to their services!

I’m trying to avoid doing this, but there’s a lot on my mind that I yearn to share with all my current/future clients.

My goal in creating a blog on this site, is simply for those who would appreciate this information and want to understand more. You know where you can find this information starting now..

So the first thing I want to cover is one of my favorite modalities in my practice, The Galvanic current.

I normally do not use the negative polarity for many people unless they have stubborn blackheads or dry skin/ small pores and the comedones do not come out as easily during extractions.

The positive polarity is used to penetrate or pull product deeper … which is what I do for everyone in order to lock in any high molecular hylauronic acid or peptides introduced through out the facial. But, I realized I’ve been sleeping on the opposite polarity of this very device…….

the negative polarity is used to perform a process in esthetics called desincrustation,

how does galvanic desincrustation work?

The desincrustation solution, is applied and then combined with the action of passing the negative electrode across the areas of choice, resulting in the “saponification” of sebum. This alkali and sebum reaction forms sodium hydroxide (lye) due to the fatty stearic acids in sebum, reacting with the alkali to form soap.

sebum is another word for the oil your skin produces, and gets trapped in your pores -> blackheads or whiteheads = made of trapped sebum

and a definition of saponification is listed here:

“Saponification is the process in which triglycerides are combined with a strong base to form fatty acid metal salts during the soap-making process.”

“Saponification is a process of cleaving esters into carboxylate salts and alcohols by the action of aqueous alkali. Typically aqueous sodium hydroxide solutions are used. It is an important type of alkaline hydrolysis. When the carboxylate is long chain, its salt is called a soap.”

thus, making it super easy to just wipe off afterwards. freaking amazing.

so by having this done, you are really removing trapped oil and keratinized cells deep within your pores without having to press and prod and easily getting the oil out that might normally be left over during a normal yet intentional facial.

This chemical reaction basically just turns the sebum and dirt lodged in your pores into SOAP and then loosens the pores making this process easier during a cleaning. I am now making this a must protocol (not an “if you need”) procedure for each and every facial client during every facial, and if you have already seen me, before this date please use the code SAPONIFICATION when booking your next facial so you can receive this at a discounted rate. I have used the process of desincrustation on my self and I can say right now I wish I had begun incorporating this in every facial not just for those clients who may have problem black and white heads a long time ago.

Thanks so much for your time,

check back often for more advanced skin care topics.
